As the final and largest battleship of the Iowa-class, the Missouri played a pivotal role in World War II, participating in major battles around the Pacific. Notably, the signing ceremony of Japan's surrender took place on the Missouri's decks in 1945. After being decommissioned and later refitted with modern weaponry, including Tomahawk missiles, the Missouri saw action in the Gulf War.
