The Adaptive Headlights System is the design and implementation of a headlight system with three additional features beyond the scope of the average car's lighting system. First, the illumination beams are mobile. As the car turns left or right down a windy road the headlights will modify, based on the steering wheel movement and the speed of the vehicle, to illuminate the road where the car is headed.

In addition, different driving conditions demand different lighting schemes. For example, highway driving at higher speeds benefits from a far-reaching light with less need for illumination of the sides of the road. Where slow residential driving requires a broader field of view where pedestrians and more frequent intersections are of concern and it is not as necessary to see far into the distance. The third feature monitors the speed of the vehicle and narrows and lengthens or widens and shortens the lighted area as appropriate for the predicted conditions.
